u/AL_K_ love this idea, but can you add (4.) experience prior to bootcamp to the list, or have thoughts on this idea. In my research this is a major factor in outcomes and will help people compare their results!

I know a lot of recent grads and grads a few years later and can list some observations. 1. This sub has a ton of people looking into Codesmith and currently in Codesmith. As it should because it's on of the top bootcamps. I have seen a few alumni pop in every now and again, typically when Codesmith is directly mentioned in the original post. I don't think alumni frequent this sub otherwise. 2. Codesmith has forked outcomes, meaning the people with experience who get 140K or more salaries highly likely are not in this sub because they are already somewhat connected to the industry. The 20% of people making under 110K who have much less experience probably are more likely to be here (or be here as alumni when they get jobs). And the job hunt is not easy for any bootcamp grad so I could see people hunkering down during the job hunt.... why spend time here. I'm sure some people will happily comment once employed. But people who get really good jobs are busy and earning those paychecks, so still less likely to be here. They do get good jobs from what I've seen, it just takes a while, and they are not always the mid level/senior, or 130K+ jobs (some are!) 3. No data should speak for itself. We have been looking at our data for a few weeks at Formation and there are many ways of looking at things that are not captured in a simple CIRR report. How do you deal with stock options? How do you fairly include signing bonuses? First year TC or recurring TC? What about unequal vesting cycles? What about performance bonus targets? I have not seen clear explanations of these in any outcomes reports and if Codesmith grads are getting mid level and senior jobs all of this comes into play. So yes, the numbers for Codesmith are audited, trustable, and significantly higher than other programs. If their numbers don't include stock then they might even be HIGHER than what CIRR says. But the base salary numbers alone don't tell the whole story of any bootcamp.

Codesmith average starting salary, not including bonuses or stock or anything else is in the 130’s. The codesmith students who come in with experience seem to land in the 140-170k range. no other program comes close, and i wanted a senior role. that’s why i went. really amazing p

Can you clarify what the incorrect information is and I'm happy to correct, what "lies" are you referring to?

If you read this thread I'm defending Codesmith by being REASONABLE and trying to understand where the person is coming from. Not everything is one way or the other, there is a middle ground. Trying to understand where people are coming from instead of jumping on them and attacking them is not an ugly look. Having a throwaway account that only criticizes people and promotes Codesmith is an ugly look. I have met a ton of people on here that have a similar mindset about being very reasonable about looking at things and have had great productive discussions, often reinforcing to people that choosing to GO TO CODESMITH is the right move for them.

It’s not “reasonable” to try to sew seeds of doubt about an amazing program, just because it’s not your program. It’s not reasonable to post 50 times a day about a program that does exactly what it says it does. And it’s not reasonable for you to reach out to practically every co

1. Read my entire comment history. It's long. If you don't have time then don't criticize me after only reading Codesmith-related comments 2. I have a personal goal of making LinkedIn connection with 10 to 20 people a day who are bootcamp grads (FROM ALL BOOTCAMPS) with some post bootcamp work experience. If current Codesmith students get caught in that it's almost certainly the fake work experience that I'm missing and thinking is post bootcamp work-experience. I have not once pitched Formation to any of those connections unless they've talked to me to ask me about it, nor do I include a message in my LinkedIn connection outreaches even mentioning Formation. There is world outside of Codesmith, take your head out of the sand. 3. Disclose yourself and prove that I pitched Formation to you or leave me alone.
