CIRRs website has been down again for a couple days and as of right now (3pm Japan time). It had gone down for many days in the past and come back with new management, Reddit AMAs, promises of changes and expansion. I can't possibly fathom it went down again unintentionally after that happened a couple years ago, and if that's the case - it's neglect that basically means the same thing - either CIRR is effectively dead, or no one competent cares enough to put in the effort in it to keep a simple website up. The only change they did recently was expand the job hunt window for graduates to 360 days from the canonical 6 month standard that programs have used for 10 years. This dalayed 2022 reporting for 6 months, masked H2 crashes by averaging them out with H1. CIRR promised more expansion, more dedication, and then the leader stepped down a few months later. A new wave of board members entered the scene, did a Reddit AMA promising growth and seeking out more partners. None of that happened. Finally, I'm not a spiteful person, but I'm calling out all of those who fought me over the years about CIRR being the 'gold standard' and insulting me or trying to disparage me for being critical of them. I was critical of them because they had problems this entire time, and instead of listening and discussing improvements, the reaction was defensiveness. You might not like me, my tone, my appearance, whatever, but I try to present arguments with integrity. I'm not perfect, but I try really hard, and I hope people see that in my commentary. One of the best programs that is most transparent about their results is Launch School - who has published 2024 - 6 month placement data a few months ago and they are an example of a commitment to transparency that does it their own way. I encourage all to have cirtical, fair, fact-based and open minded conversations about bootcamps, and don't fall into personal attacks, name calling, or making assumptions about people's motivations.

I mean I feel bad for the companies too and there are many lessons that should have been learned but weren't. Like when times were good, Codesmith was marketing that anyone who left CIRR it was because their outcomes got worse and that they were above them all by haveing 'transparency'. Now Codesmith's outcomes started tanking (based on 2023 data in California) they haven't published yet. I understand they are still planning on it, but it's April now and results have historically come out in March - last year was mid-late March for example. It's very ironic, that after criticizing everyone for leaving CIRR, they push change the rules to 360 days and then they delay bad results. I expect they will still publish them, if they don't they should just shut down at this point... they have to life with the consequences of past decisions. They can delay them until they have some new data to cancel it out, but that's also manipulation and people see it. Anyways, the lesson learned - when times are good always take feedback and keep improving. It's the time to IMPROVE and be most critical, not to grow an ego that you are the best and everything you touch is gold. I was handing Codesmith a beautiful plate of feedback during the good times that they ignored, defending and did nothing about, in fact they were SO defensive they created a narrative internally that I was a jealous competitor going after them that was completely wrong. So not only did they not take the feedback, they burned all bridges to potentially work with me as a win-win partner. Anyways, my point is that Codesmith's die hard support of CIRR has been their downfall because no one believes them anymore after all these CIRR games over the past two years.

I don't know what it is but I posted about the 3-4 eras of bootcamps: 1. first wave of super ambitious smart people, 2. wave of DEI, 3. COVID, 4. collapse. It's possible bootcamps go away yeah and there is no new era. There are AI programs popping up in their place so it's a possible path. I been taking to bootcamps about AI and I expect that to be the only path for many to survive so I could see it happening, but I'm not sure. I'm the mod of that sub yeah but no one uses it so I'm not sure how popular AI bootcamps are yet haha.

It is now yeah, before I posted this I did a thorough DNS server check from multiple places and the site was completely dead, it's DNS was removed. It looks like they were transferring it to a new host, which doesn't explain why you need 4 days of down time to do that.
