It's more about the "types" of engineers. For example, if you are a product engineer working on user facing features, you don't want to inerview with like infrastructure.
So asking "I'm a \_\_\_\_\_ engineer, can I get an onsite with engineers of similar backgrounds?"
where \_\_\_\_ would be the type of engineer at Facebook: UX, Growth, Infra, Site Integrity, Social good, Product, Tools, Monetization, Ads, etc..
