What is the issue here, the Java script is not functioning correctly even tho I followed the tutorial exactly.

yeah this would run but it won't work as expected.
the onclick and line following will be set as the onclick handler:
menu.onClick = () => first line;
BUT the second line under there will just run outside of a function in the main closure
