You can be employed one day and your manager tells you you are performing ok and the next day you are laid off. Just locked out and thrown away and have to then somehow bounce back in a rough market with the stigma of a performance based lay off.
I've seen it extremely emotionally stressful.
On the other hand, when you have a great job you love and are crushing it's the highest high.
It's kind of why this sub was so positive 3 years ago and everyone was so happy and supportive and now it's full of people who have seen the opposite side.
Having a stressful job is less stressful than not having a job.
