bootcamp guidance- going into code

I would recommend trying to find a pathway to more technical roles within your company over a longer period of time. For example, if they will support you doing courses and you have a pathway to interview for incrementally more technical roles and over 3 to 5 years complete the transition. In the current job market, if you have a good job, keep it and plan for a slower transition, in my opinion. One really important thing to keep in my with the rapid career change is that even if you do a bootcamp and get a job within 12 months of graduating (which if it's part time, might be about 2 years from now) then you have to keep the job... and bootcamp grads have been having a hard time in general (not EVERYONE but in general). No matter how good you are, you are near the top of the list for layoffs when a manager has to choose someone on the team to let go. That's not meant to scare you, but just supporting my argument of doing the slow and incremental transition with the support of your company instead of going all-in. It's ultimately your risk tolerance and personal situation in making the choice.
